Retired NFL superstar Tom Brady made a triumphant return to Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Friday, marking a heartfelt tribute to his legendary 20-year career with the New England Patriots. The occasion featured the unveiling of a stunning 12-foot bronze statue in Brady’s likeness, situated at the entrance of the team’s Hall of Fame at Patriot Place, just steps away from Gillette Stadium.
This milestone event coincided with the Patriots’ 2025 preseason opener, and the statue honors Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion and the first player in franchise history to receive such an accolade. The sculpture was commissioned by longtime Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who expressed his admiration during the ceremony.
"Tommy, you have not only etched your name in NFL history but also in all our hearts," Kraft stated. "Now, your likeness will stand tall here at Gillette Stadium, just like you did throughout your career—poised and laser-focused. While people may forget what’s said tonight, may this statue forever remind us of your incredible legacy and how you made us all feel."
The impressive statue captures Brady in his signature celebratory pose, fist raised high—a reflection of his intense focus and determination during games. While the pose isn’t linked to any specific moment, it represents the spirit of his two decades with the team.
During his speech, Brady humbly acknowledged the contributions of his teammates, many of whom were present for this significant occasion. "I know what this statue represents. It’s not about one guy. It never has been," Brady emphasized. "Football is about teamwork and a shared commitment to greatness."
In true Brady fashion, he also couldn’t resist a playful jab at the New York Jets, a long-standing rival of the Patriots. "This statue isn’t just for Pats fans," he quipped. "It’ll also give Jets fans something to throw their beers at as they leave the stadium every year. Probably in the second quarter, maybe the third!"
Brady remains the most accomplished player to don a Patriots uniform, securing six of his seven Super Bowl titles with the team. After spending his final three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won another championship, he returned to New England in June 2024 for his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame.
