On Sunday, Scottie Scheffler added yet another impressive trophy to his PGA Tour collection, showcasing his skills in dramatic fashion with an extraordinary chip on Hole 17. The breathtaking Caves Valley Golf Club served as the backdrop for this remarkable achievement, where Scheffler surged ahead of Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre to clinch the BMW Championship. He finished the day with a 3-under-par score, bringing his tournament total to 15-under and securing a two-shot victory.
This win marked Scheffler’s second-largest comeback in his career, a feat made possible by his stunning chip shot just short of the 17th green.

Scheffler, who had a challenging lie in the thick rough on the par-3 hole, executed the shot flawlessly. The ball soared onto the green and began rolling toward the hole, captivating the crowd as it found its way into the cup. The thrilling moment earned him a birdie in the most unconventional manner, leaving MacIntyre visibly stunned.
Reflecting on his impressive chip-in, Scheffler noted, “Part of me wanted to go at the pin, but I kind of held off to the left side. I knew par wasn’t a bad score on that hole today. Anytime you hole a chip like that, it’s pretty nice. It looked good when it landed, looked good when it was rolling, and it was nice to see that one go in.”
Entering Sunday, MacIntyre held the lead but struggled early, going 3-over in his first five holes. Meanwhile, Scheffler seized control on the seventh green with a birdie on his third hole of the day. As Scheffler approached the 18th, he understood that a par would secure the win, and that’s precisely what he achieved, celebrating another victory on the PGA Tour.
This triumph in the final round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs marks Scheffler’s fifth win this season, making it his second consecutive year with at least five victories—a feat matched only by Tiger Woods in the last 40 years.
Scheffler’s 2025 season has already been stellar, including wins at the British Open and the PGA Championship. With two Masters green jackets in hand, he only needs the U.S. Open trophy to complete his career grand slam, a milestone achieved by just six other golfers. Rory McIlroy notably completed his career grand slam at Augusta National in April.
In the final standings, MacIntyre finished the tournament at 13-under, while Maverick McNealy took third place at 11-under. Tommy Fleetwood and Sam Burns rounded out the top five at 10-under.
