Listen to Fox News Articles: New Insights on the Colorado Rockies’ Jimmy Herget
The Colorado Rockies have been counting on relief pitcher Jimmy Herget this season, and recently, his workload has significantly increased. In just one week, Herget took the mound for the Rockies’ bullpen four times, prompting him to bring some humor to a recent news conference with a cheeky T-shirt that playfully acknowledged the strain on his arm.
After the Rockies secured a victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Herget sported a shirt that read, "My Arm Hurts." He shared a light-hearted moment with reporters, stating, "It’s just a funny little thing I like to do after I pitch."
Despite the increased pressure, Herget reassured fans about his health, saying, "I feel fine." His recent appearances have showcased his impressive skills, as he boasts a 2.73 ERA this season across 44 games.
Relief pitchers often face the challenge of back-to-back games, but after four outings in seven days, Herget will likely appreciate a little downtime. Last season, he had eight relief appearances with the Atlanta Braves, and he previously spent three years with the Los Angeles Angels.
As the Rockies approached their Saturday night game against the Diamondbacks, they found themselves at the bottom of the NL West standings.
