Exciting News for One Piece Fans: Season 3 Renewed on Netflix!

The adventure continues! Netflix has just announced an early renewal for Season 3 of the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the iconic manga and anime series, "One Piece." This thrilling revelation was unveiled during the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, where it was also confirmed that Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for the upcoming season. Stokes previously took on the role of co-executive producer for Season 1, bringing valuable experience to the team.

Filming for Season 3 is set to kick off later this year in the stunning landscapes of Cape Town, South Africa. While fans eagerly await the return of Season 2, which is expected to premiere in 2026, Netflix has already treated viewers to several first-look images from the new season. Titled “One Piece: Into the Grand Line,” Season 2 promises to deliver even more thrilling escapades and fierce adversaries.

What to Expect in Season 2 of One Piece

The official description for Season 2 reads: “Netflix’s epic high-seas pirate adventure, ‘One Piece,’ returns for Season 2—unleashing fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet. Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”

Fans can look forward to seeing Iñaki Godoy reprise his role as Luffy, alongside a talented cast that includes Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. New faces joining the crew this season include David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, and Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0.

Behind the Scenes: Showrunner Changes and Production Insights

The journey of Netflix’s “One Piece” has seen several changes in its showrunner lineup over the seasons. Initially brought to life by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, who served as co-showrunners for Season 1, the series has evolved with Tracz stepping in as co-showrunner for Season 2 following Maeda’s departure. Owens has also announced his exit after contributing to Season 2, leaving Tracz at the helm alongside the creative team.

The series, developed in collaboration with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix, continues to thrive under the guidance of executive producers, including “One Piece” creator Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements.
