Nicolas Cage Set to Star in HBO’s “True Detective” Season 5
Exciting news for fans of HBO’s “True Detective”! Acclaimed actor Nicolas Cage is reportedly nearing a deal to join the cast of the highly anticipated fifth season. According to sources at Variety, specific details about the new season remain under wraps, but it has been confirmed that the story will unfold in the Jamaica Bay area of New York City.
Cage is the latest A-list actor to take on a leading role in the anthology series, which has previously featured stars like Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Mahershala Ali, and Jodie Foster. Not only have Harrelson, McConaughey, Ali, and Foster received Emmy nominations for their performances, but Foster also took home both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her role in Season 4.
While HBO representatives have yet to comment on Cage’s involvement, this marks only the second time he will take on a leading role in a television series. In 2024, it was announced that Cage would portray Spider-Man Noir in an upcoming live-action series for MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video, set to premiere in 2026.
