Nicola Coughlan Takes the Helm of Channel 4’s ‘I Am’ Anthology Series

Renowned for her role in Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan is set to lead the next installment of Channel 4’s acclaimed anthology series, I Am. This series, which previously earned Kate Winslet a BAFTA for her performance in I Am Ruth, will feature Coughlan in I Am Helen, alongside Peaky Blinders star Joe Cole.

Coughlan has collaborated closely with the series creator, Dominic Savage, to develop her episode, although Channel 4 has yet to disclose further details about the storyline or additional cast members for this fourth season. The I Am anthology is celebrated for tackling pressing societal issues faced by women, with previous episodes featuring talents like Letitia Wright and Vicky McClure.

Expressing her excitement, Coughlan stated, “It’s an absolute honor to be part of the next chapter of I Am alongside Dominic Savage — a remarkable storyteller committed to exploring the diverse experiences of women. Following in the footsteps of the incredible women who have worked with him feels surreal, and I am truly fortunate to embark on this journey.”

The series is produced by Me+You Productions and is co-funded by Sky Studios, with international sales managed by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.

After solving a crime from her past, Tess transitions back to the police force as a civilian consultant.

Jennifer Ebell, EVP of Television Distribution at Fifth Season, remarked, “Sight Unseen offers a fresh perspective on the crime genre, spotlighting a sight-impaired female lead authentically portrayed. With crime procedurals maintaining strong global appeal, this series stands out with its clever twists on a beloved genre.”

Created by Karen Troubetzkoy (Killjoys, Orphan Black) and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy (Skymed, Transplant), the show is produced by Fifth Season-backed Blink49 Studios.
