The Dallas Cowboys have a long-standing tradition of hosting home games in Texas, but star linebacker Micah Parsons is no stranger to donning his helmet and shoulder pads in California. For years, the Cowboys have held their training camp in Oxnard, California, located just a 90-minute drive from the Los Angeles Rams’ SoFi Stadium.
As this year’s training camp draws to a close, speculation is mounting regarding Parsons’ future with the Cowboys amid ongoing contract negotiations. Could the talented pass rusher be headed to Southern California?
Aaron Donald Weighs In on Trade Speculation
Former Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald recently commented on a manipulated social media image depicting Parsons in a Rams jersey. He joked that if Parsons were to be traded to the Rams, he might need to "get in football shape." Donald, who spent his entire illustrious career with the Rams, retired after the 2023 season.
Parsons caught wind of Donald’s playful remark and responded, “Don’t tell me info like that.” This exchange occurred shortly after Parsons officially requested a trade. The four-time Pro Bowler is currently in the final year of his rookie contract and is actively seeking a long-term extension.
Health Update on Micah Parsons
While Parsons has been present at Cowboys practices during training camp, he has not participated in any drills. Reports indicate that for the first time this training camp, Parsons was absent from the practice field due to experiencing back tightness.
Despite missing four games last season, Parsons still managed to finish with an impressive 12 sacks, maintaining a streak of double-digit sacks in each of his first four seasons in the NFL.
Upcoming Matchup: Rams vs. Cowboys
