Jelly Roll Teams Up with Randy Orton for WWE SummerSlam Showdown
Country music sensation Jelly Roll is stepping into the ring for an electrifying tag-team match at WWE’s SummerSlam this weekend. He will join forces with WWE superstar Randy Orton to take on the formidable duo of Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.
Jelly Roll made waves at WrestleMania 41 earlier this April, showcasing his wrestling chops as he intervened to protect Orton from McIntyre and Paul’s onslaught. The 6-foot-1 musician even took a dropkick to the face from McIntyre during Saturday Night’s Main Event, proving he’s not afraid to mix it up in the ring.
On the final "Friday Night SmackDown" leading up to SummerSlam, Jelly Roll delivered a stunning Black Hole Slam to Logan Paul, showcasing his growing skills and determination to leave a mark before the big event.
In an interview on ESPN’s "Get Up," Jelly Roll emphasized the authenticity of professional wrestling, stating, “These men and women put their bodies through hell. I really understand it now after stepping into the ring. The notion that wrestling is fake has to go; there’s nothing fake about landing on plywood in front of 60,000 fans or going over the ropes.” He even recounted breaking his pinkie during the first week of training, highlighting the physical toll of the sport.
Jelly Roll also expressed gratitude for having Randy Orton by his side as he prepares for the high-stakes match. Orton, in turn, praised Jelly Roll for his humility and dedication amidst the spotlight. “Jelly Roll is an amazing human being. He always makes time for fans, even when he’s pulled in multiple directions,” Orton said, recalling a recent encounter where Jelly Roll took time to meet his wife during a busy rehearsal for the "Jimmy Kimmel Show."
