Sinner Set for First-Round Match at Wimbledon: What to Expect
At just 23 years old, Jannik Sinner is gearing up for his first-round match at Wimbledon, where he’s anticipated to face off against Czech player Vít Kopriva—provided that the world No. 80 can secure a win against a qualifier in his opening match.
As Sinner progresses through the tournament, he may face some challenges in the last 16, with a potential clash against the 13th seed, Tommy Paul. Additionally, fourth seed Taylor Fritz is also in Sinner’s section of the draw; however, they won’t meet until the semi-finals, should both players advance that far.

On the other side of the draw, Carlos Alcaraz is set to return to action against the winner of the match between Italian player Mattia Bellucci and Ukraine’s Damir Dzumhur. While Dzumhur was once ranked 18th in the world seven years ago, both players now find themselves outside the top 50.
For Alcaraz to have a chance at avenging his previous loss to Sinner, he will likely need to get past Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals. Alcaraz clinched the title at Cincinnati in 2023, while Sinner emerged victorious in their previous encounter last year.
