Gal Gadot Opens Up About ‘Snow White’ and Addressing Relationship with Rachel Zegler
In a recent appearance on the Israeli TV show The A Talks, Gal Gadot candidly discussed the commercial performance of Disney’s Snow White, marking her first public comments on the film’s challenges. Despite the film’s struggles at the box office, Gadot expressed her enjoyment of the filming process, saying, “I really enjoyed filming that movie; I had a lot of fun.” She emphasized her positive experience working alongside co-star Rachel Zegler, stating, “We laughed and talked, and had a great time.”
Gadot shared her initial optimism for the film’s success, noting, “I was sure it was going to be a huge hit.” However, she reflected on the unforeseen impact of events that unfolded on October 7, which she felt affected many industries, including Hollywood. “There was a lot of pressure on celebrities and creators to take a stance regarding Israel,” she explained. “I always try to provide context about the situation in Israel, but ultimately, people form their own opinions. It was disappointing to see how much the film was affected, but that’s the nature of the industry—you win some, you lose some.”
During her appearance, Gadot was interviewed by a group of atypical journalists with Autism Spectrum Disorder, part of the unique format of The A Talks. The show, which is inspired by the French series Les Rencontres du Papotin, features heartfelt discussions with various celebrities. The Israeli version is hosted by model and actress Rotem Sela, a close friend of Gadot’s.
Currently enjoying the summer in Israel with her family, Gadot recently wrapped filming for the action thriller The Runner in the U.K., where she faced protests during her time on set. “While filming in London, I felt incredibly lonely,” she shared. “I was targeted by pro-Palestinian protesters who attacked me personally, which made the experience very difficult.” Despite these challenges, she expressed feeling safest in Israel, saying, “Even with the missile alerts, I feel secure here. Being Israeli outside of Israel has become more complicated, and I often require a security detail when I’m working abroad.”
Gadot also addressed the criticism she faced for not wearing a yellow ribbon pin, which symbolizes solidarity with the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas since October 7, at the 2025 Golden Globes. “I am a proud Israeli and was invited to the Globes to present an award. Given the circumstances and the collaborations involved, it didn’t feel appropriate to wear the pin at work. It might have been a mistake,” she admitted.
In addition to discussing her professional life, Gadot opened up about her personal health journey, revealing that she underwent emergency brain surgery in March 2024. She also reflected on her breakout role as Wonder Woman, humorously noting, “Chris Pine got paid more than me, and I was Wonder Woman!” When asked about her biggest career regret, she recalled her guest role on HBO’s Entourage in 2009, stating, “I hated filming Entourage. It was a terrible experience, and I left the set due to inappropriate behavior from someone.”
When considering her acting skills, Gadot remarked, “I think I’m solid. There are certainly more talented actors out there, but if you cast me, you’re making a good choice. My hard work and determination are my greatest strengths.”
Gal Gadot’s openness about her experiences, both on and off the screen, showcases her resilience and commitment to her craft, while also highlighting the complexities of navigating fame in today’s world.
