Breaking News: Jaylen Brown’s Father Charged with Attempted Murder Following Parking Lot Altercation
In a shocking turn of events, Quenton Marselles Brown, the father of Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown, has been charged with attempted murder after a serious incident in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Reports indicate that Brown allegedly stabbed a youth football coach during a dispute over a parking space at All American Park.
The 57-year-old, who is commonly known by his middle name, was taken into custody and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday. Court records reveal that he is facing an attempted murder charge, with bail set at $300,000 following his initial court appearance.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the altercation unfolded just after 5 p.m. when a disagreement over a parking space escalated dramatically. One individual was stabbed in the stomach and required emergency surgery after being transported to the hospital. Another suspect was also arrested at the scene.
Eyewitness accounts detailed how the conflict began. A passenger in an SUV parked next to the victim’s car reportedly opened the door, causing a dent. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, exited his vehicle to assess the damage, only to be confronted aggressively by Marselles Brown, the SUV’s driver. Tensions flared as the victim’s girlfriend noted that her boyfriend slapped the side mirror of the SUV, igniting a heated verbal exchange.
As the situation escalated, the confrontation turned physical. Witnesses stated that Marselles Brown pulled out an "unknown object" and stabbed the victim in the back. One bystander claimed the suspect swung a knife at the victim approximately 25 times. Despite his injuries, the victim, described as a youth football coach, and his girlfriend managed to escape in their car, where they waited for emergency responders. Medical professionals later reported that the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the back, upper right clavicle, and left hand.
Marselles Brown’s attorney, Arnold Weinstock, shared with local news that his client claims he acted in self-defense, alleging that the victim struck him with a gun during the altercation. Marselles Brown is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday.
