Matt Rife Becomes Legal Guardian of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s Occult Museum
Comedian Matt Rife, known for his stand-up specials like Lucid, has exciting news for paranormal enthusiasts! Rife recently announced on social media that he and ghost hunter Elton Castee have officially become the legal guardians of the late Ed and Lorraine Warren’s Occult Museum. This historic site is home to a fascinating collection of haunted artifacts, including the infamous Annabelle doll, which has captivated horror fans worldwide and inspired the popular Conjuring film franchise.
In his announcement, Rife shared a series of photos, including one of him and Castee posing with the notorious Annabelle doll. He expressed his passion for the paranormal, stating, "If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted. The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time. I’m incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history."
Rife emphasized the significance of Ed and Lorraine Warren, who played a pivotal role in bringing demonology and the paranormal into mainstream culture. Their legacy includes some of the most famous haunted stories, such as the Conjuring House and the Amityville Horror.
The Occult Museum, once open to the public, closed its doors in 2019 due to zoning issues following Lorraine Warren’s passing at the age of 92. However, Rife has plans to revive the site. He stated, "We plan to open the house for overnight stays and museum tours, allowing you to experience and learn all the haunted history surrounding this amazing place."
Excitingly, the universe of the Warrens will be further explored in the upcoming film, The Conjuring: Last Rites, which will delve into the Smurl case and is set to hit theaters on September 5. The latest trailer was released just this past Thursday, building anticipation for what’s to come.
