Exclusive Update: Dave Bautista Set to Star in Two Exciting Amazon MGM Studios Films
In an exciting development for fans of the Dune franchise, sources reveal that actor Dave Bautista is nearing deals for two major projects with Amazon MGM Studios. The first is Chad Stahelski’s highly anticipated adaptation of Highlander, a film that also has the backing of United Artists. Bautista will take on the iconic role of the Kurgan, a character originally made famous by Clancy Brown in the classic Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert film.
In addition to Highlander, Bautista is also set to star in Road House 2, where he will share the screen with Jake Gyllenhaal, who reprises his role as the ex-UFC fighter Dalton. The film is based on a script by Will Beall, known for his work on Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Road House 2 is being produced by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment, alongside Gyllenhaal’s Nine Stories Productions. Executive producers include Josh McLaughlin and Ivan Atkinson.
In a notable change, Guy Ritchie will no longer be directing Road House 2; instead, the film will be helmed by Ilya Naishuller, known for his work on Nobody. Bautista is represented by WME and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
