Cameron Boyce’s mother, Libby Boyce, recently expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Adam Sandler for the touching tribute he included in “Happy Gilmore 2” for her late son. Cameron, who tragically passed away in 2019 at the young age of 20, makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the sequel. In a scene where Sandler’s character, Happy Gilmore, approaches a golfing check-in booth, viewers catch a quick glimpse of Cameron on a small TV screen. The clip features a moment from his beloved Disney Channel show, “Jessie,” where he portrayed Luke Ross from 2011 to 2015.

Libby took to Instagram to share her thoughts, stating, “Adam and Cameron had meaningful conversations in the days leading up to his passing. Cameron was even supposed to star in ‘Hubie Halloween,’ and they were planning together. Their bond was rooted in authenticity, humor, and keeping it real. Adam consistently finds ways to honor Cameron’s memory, which truly warms our hearts.”

In a follow-up post, Libby shared a screenshot from the film, thanking Sandler directly with the caption, “Thank you @adamsandler for honoring Cam’s legacy in Happy Gilmore 2.”

The connection between Boyce and Sandler goes back to their collaboration on the 2010 film “Grown Ups,” where Cameron played Keithie Feder, one of Sandler’s character Lenny’s sons. Both actors reprised their roles in the 2013 sequel, “Grown Ups 2.” Cameron Boyce, also known for his roles in “Descendants” and “Mrs. Fletcher,” passed away due to a seizure linked to an ongoing medical condition, as confirmed by a family spokesperson.

Since Cameron’s passing, Adam Sandler has consistently spoken fondly of him, even paying tribute to him in the credits of his 2020 film “Hubie Halloween.” This enduring connection showcases the impact Cameron had on those around him and the legacy he leaves behind.
