In the recently unveiled set video, viewers can catch a first look at Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who takes on the iconic role of the Slayer, following in the footsteps of original star Sarah Michelle Gellar. Armstrong is no stranger to the spotlight, having recently appeared in Disney+’s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
Returning to the franchise, Gellar will reprise her legendary role in a recurring capacity, much to the delight of longtime fans. The pilot episode will also feature a talented ensemble cast, including Faly Rakotohavana, Ava Jean, Sarah Bock, Daniel Di Tomasso, and Jack Cutmore-Scott as series regulars.

The creative team behind this thrilling revival includes writers and directors Nora and Lila Zuckerman, who will also serve as showrunners. The pilot is being directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao, who is joining forces with Gellar, Gail Berman, Fran Kuzui, Kaz Kuzi, and Dolly Parton in an executive production role. The reboot is produced by 20th Television and Searchlight Television.

It followed the journey of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character as she balanced the challenges of high school life with her duties as a fierce demon and vampire hunter.
