Brad Pitt’s "F1" Dominates Korean Box Office: Weekend Highlights (July 18-20)
Brad Pitt’s much-anticipated film "F1" has reclaimed its position at the top of the Korean box office during the weekend of July 18-20, earning an impressive $2.6 million from 332,902 admissions. According to KOBIS, the tracking service managed by the Korean Film Council, "F1" has now amassed a remarkable total of $14.5 million in cumulative earnings.
In a close second place, the animated biblical epic "The King of Kings" debuted with $2.08 million and 303,370 admissions. Directed by Jang Seong-ho and produced by Mofac Studios and Angel Studios, this film reimagines the life of Jesus through the innocent perspective of a child, bringing its total earnings to $2.6 million.
Meanwhile, the Japanese animated mystery "Detective Conan the Movie: One-Eyed Flashback" secured third place with a total of $1.4 million, bringing its cumulative earnings to $2.2 million. Last week’s leader, "Jurassic World Rebirth," slipped to fourth place, adding $1.39 million and reaching a cumulative total of $13.9 million.
In fifth place, the Korean thriller "Noise" closely followed with $1.38 million, bringing its total to $10.4 million. James Gunn’s "Superman" fell to sixth, grossing $944,531 for a cumulative total of $5.6 million.
Seventh place was claimed by "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Art World Tales," which added $174,929 in its second weekend, reaching a total of $286,987. The horror film "Ghost Train" earned $85,387, with a total of $619,963.
In ninth, the Japanese suspense film "The Floor Plan," also known as "A Strange House," debuted with $78,256 and has a cumulative total of $101,047. The film follows Amemiya, a YouTuber investigating a mysterious house with an unusual layout. Rounding out the top ten is the horror sequel "M3GAN 2.0," which earned $73,600 in its opening weekend, bringing its cumulative total to $109,582.
Overall, the top ten films collectively garnered $11.2 million during the weekend of July 18-20, a slight decrease from the previous week’s total of $11.4 million.
